First, thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Let me start by introducing myself as a real person. I have dreams, goals, problems, bills—you know, real life things, good and bad. Yes, I also have a license to practice law. But I’m a person first, just like you. And my commitment to my clients is to relate to you and be approachable—not talk down to you. Don’t expect me to be in a suit and tie and I’m not surprised when you arrive at my office in shorts and a t-shirt. We’re people in today’s world.
My job is to take a very complex set of rules and laws, apply them to your situation, explain your options, and then help you execute your plan. This is personal to me. I have had family members face long-term care and I know firsthand how stressful, complicated and overwhelming life became with a loved one needing more help than we could provide.
Please read on to learn more about my professional skills and background.
I help my aging clients by working with them to navigate the maze of public benefits to position them to be able to receive necessary care while generally preserving assets for a spouse, children, family, or charities. When possible, I like to plan with clients before needs arise because it provides the best opportunity to meet my clients’ goals. When that isn’t possible, I can help make the best of the adversity that aging sometimes presents unexpectedly and work with them to obtain public benefits.
I work with clients regardless of age in preparing key documents such as wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, and, when appropriate for the client’s goals, trusts. Being a parent of two young daughters, I am sensitive to the estate planning needs of my clients with minor children and I counsel them on documents to name guardians and provide structure for transferring their property in the event of an untimely death.

Professional Skills
I am an estate planning and elder law attorney helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of Medicaid planning, preparation of wills and trusts, and the administration of estates.I help my aging clients by working with them to navigate the maze of public benefits to position them to be able to receive necessary care while generally preserving assets for a spouse, children, family, or charities. Education
I grew up in Northeast Ohio, graduating from Akron's Firestone High School. I then made my way to Mount Union College where I earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Administration and Spanish. After that, I attended the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University to earn my Juris Doctorate. My journey through law school was not traditional—I went in the evening while clerking at a law firm during the day. That practical experience gave me a much broader legal education that I use every day to serve my clients.Bar Admission and Professional Affiliations
